How to Submit Photos
How to Submit Slides

Submit Photos, 35mm Slides & Digital Photos

1. PRINT OUT the Order Form for transferring photos and slides. PRINT PHOTO ORDER FORM
2. CHOOSE the images (photos or slides) you wish to have transferred to DVD
3. REMOVE photos from photo albums and slides from cubes, carousels or trays. Digital photos can be submitted on CD-R, CD+R, DVD-R or DVD+R format. If you wish to transfer them electronically, please contact us for arrangements.
4. Decide the ORDER in which you wish the images to appear on the DVD.

Slides Note: When you are putting them in order, please be sure that they all face the same direction so they are scanned correctly.

Digital Photos Note: Unless otherwise specified, photos will appear on the DVD sorted by folder name first and then by file name.

5.

When they’re in the order you wish, carefully NUMBER them.

PHOTOS: Use a blunt-point #2 pencil and mark the backs of the photos in the upper right corner. Be careful not to press too hard or you could damage your photo but please make sure the numbers are legible. Also, do not use regular ink or felt-tip pens because they may smear onto other photos or bleed through.

SLIDES: Please place the number in the upper right corner of the mount. Mark it on the side that when you hold it up to the light it is viewed correctly. That way items that should show up on the right-hand don’t get scanned in and show up on the left.

Please note that slides will be scanned from front to back just as they are in the bundle. We will not attempt to check first to see if they are all oriented correctly.

If there is information written on the back of the photo, an album page or on the slide border that you wish to have included with the picture transferred, write that information onto Additional Options Form #1 and be sure to attach that form to your Order Form.

6.

If you find an image that you want to INSERT in your numbered line-up, rather than renumber, just give it the number of the image that it will follow and add an “A” to the number you mark on the added image.

Alternately, if you decide to DELETE an image, please put a slip of paper in its place advising us that the image for that number has been removed.

7. Once you are satisfied with the order of your images, COUNT them and enter that number on the Order Form.
8. DECIDE ON AN OPENING TITLE. An opening title is required for all DVDs. It will begin your DVD and will be printed on the face of the disc. It can be up to 100 letters/spaces. You may also choose a closing title as well. Write your title(s) on the Order Form.
9.

If you would like groups of images to have titles for different subjects (e.g. Dad’s in the Army Now, the ole Smith Homestead, Grandma Nan with Grandkiddies, etc.), bundle the images for each group in a rubber band (snug but not too tight) or put them into separate envelopes marked with the numbers of the images enclosed. (For example, #1 - #12 “Dad’s in the Army Now”, #13 – 19 “The Ole Smith Homestead”, etc.)

Then be sure to mark your chosen titles onto Additional Options Form 2.

10. PREPARE your images for shipping by placing them into zip-lock plastic bags to protect them from moisture in shipping.
11.

PUT them in your shipping container. (If you are shipping via US Postal Service Priority Mail, the Post Office can provide a shipping container at no cost.)

If you use a padded or bubble envelope, please add additional support (such as sturdy cardboard) inside the envelope to protect the images. Take care that the envelope is sealed very securely.

If you use a shipping box, use enough bubble wrap, packing peanuts or crumpled paper so that the contents don’t move around inside the box. If you shake the box you shouldn’t be able to hear any movement inside. Take care that the box is sealed very securely.

DON’T FORGET TO ALSO ENCLOSE the completed and signed Order Form, any Additional Options Forms, and your payment if you are sending a personal check, money order, or cashier’s check.
